Tessura

Every fibre holds the tension of the loom it was stretched on, every stitch the trace of the hand that set it. Tessura - rooted in the Italian tessere, to weave, and tessitura, the texture of a material - brings together traditions that would otherwise never meet: embroidery and mud cloth, jacquard and tapestry, cork and plaster, translated onto the wall.
